The next 21 days...

Today, I don’t know why I am seeing the animated version of corona virus with a circular shape and horns walking up to me and talking in the same intensity as Ganesh Gaitonde  “21 din hain, bachale apne desh ko”. Is it funny? Not at all. Is it going to be easy? Hardly. But, this lockdown is something we will have to follow and obey for the next 21 days to defeat this pandemic. We are in this together.

Begin Again
Let’s look at it like a new start. Tomorrow is a traditional New Year ’s Day according to LuniSolar Hindu calendar. What better way to start off with this routine of home isolation and self- distancing than on a new year? It’s a perfect time  to retrospect the things that you wanted to start on 1st Jan and couldn’t do it. For example, even if it’s a gym – you can start with pushups, squats etc. Take it as an opportunity for a new start.

The number 21
The number 21 is really a special number. It is believed that our guardian angels use number 21 frequently, in order to send us messages. Number 21 is reminding you that you should take care of your own beliefs and thoughts because they will be responsible for creating your own reality. If you think positively, your life will be much better and you will attract positive things to you.
I have always been fond of number 21, The book which I wrote, has 21 chapters, And also the unpublished novel lying in “my documents” folder has 21 chapters. There is something about 21 that makes you believe. I am passing that belief onto all of you. Let us believe that we get the freedom and external interactions that we are very much craving for.

Get Rid of Bad habits/ Bad influences.
There is an interesting stat that I read today. It says, ideally it takes just 21 days for a human being to get rid of his bad habits or influences. I am sure most of us are carrying some baggage from our past about which we are not happy. Could be anything, your defeat, your bad memories, the things that you did wrong, the person that you want to forget, etc. Take this 21 day challenge to make it happen, get rid of it, it’s like a god sent opportunity for you to throw that burden off the clip. Do it.

The Gudi
Going back to the Padwa tradition (new year), Do you know the symbolism of the Gudi that we raise in front of our house? Well, it is believed that Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was the first one to raise the Gudi after a Victory and most homes followed the suit. It signifies a victory over the evil.
Of all the things Shivaji taught us, the most important lesson taken from the history book is how he waited patiently in Pratapgad fort for months before finally taking on Afzhal Khan. It teaches us that sometimes, the best form of attack is solitude and defence.

It’s a war
Yes, it is serious; we are fighting against an invisible enemy whom we cannot defeat in the open combat. We cannot defeat this enemy even if we unite our forces. As much weird as it sounds, we can definitely defeat this enemy individually. So let us defeat the spread by not exposing ourselves and subsequently not ending up being a vector and infected soul.

We are in the end game now, Stay Home, stay safe.. The lock Down is coming.
..And our watch begins today.
